CoopTran started as an undergraduate project. It grew into a platform after years of listening to accountants, book-keepers, cooperative managers, and ministry inspectors.
Our story
CoopTran is a product of CAMAG Technologies Limited, an engineering company based in Osogbo, Nigeria. Our analysts spent years inside cooperative societies studying record-keeping and the peculiarities of cooperative accounting, before writing the first line of code.
The result is a Windows and web platform built on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles — universally functional across societies, and flexible enough to accommodate the peculiar operations of each one.
What we believe
A cooperative society is a group of people acting together to meet common needs. Members deserve what any investor deserves: value on investment, security of investment, and a good return. Software should serve those outcomes, not obstruct them.
We follow the KISS principle — Keep It Simple, Stupid — in every screen we design. Anyone can make the simple complicated; creativity is making the complicated simple.
